Crystal Extrusion Systems (CES) fabricates aluminum extrusion profiles used
in residential and commercial window manufacturing and other aluminum
building products. Located outside St. Louis in Union, Missouri, CES has a
state of the art horizontal paint line powder coating system. CES is your
premiere source for your entire aluminum and powder coated requirements.
We are a rapidly growing provider of quality extruded aluminum shapes.
CES is continually growing and seeking additional customers in the
fenestration and building products industry.
CES' state-of-the-art powder coating system facilitates painting large
quantities of aluminum profiles, efficiently and at competitive prices.
Finishing equipment accommodates profile lengths up to 22 feet and
features:
A 1,600 foot conveyor system carries the parts through a five stage
in-line pre-treatment system that sprays the parts with the latest
pre-treatment products from Henkel Technologies. This system helps clean
/ degrease, etch and apply a dry-in-place coating to facilitate paint
adhesion to any AAMA standard. The pre-treated parts are then oven dried
and electrostatically powder coated in a climate controlled
environmental room using the latest Nordson Cyclone™ spraying system
with paint products that meet or exceed the industry norm.
Powder coating is a completely dry finishing process, yielding color-rich,
long-lasting surfaces that stand up to any weather, and resist scratches
and color fading. The entire process is very environmentally friendly,
with negligible pollutants released into the air and easily recoverable,
recyclable powder excess waste, compared to traditional liquid paint
coatings.
The parts are electrically charged such that the sprayed powder wraps
around the part to form a coating. The coating is then baked at high
temperatures to form a permanent bond between the powder and the aluminum
substrate. The entire process is environmentally friendly and proven to
be very cost effective.
CES offers a variety of standard colors and also matches custom colors to
meet any functional or finish requirement. CES is also in partnership
with other paint manufacturers to improve lead times and enhance product
quality at all times. CES has recently attained certification as an
approved applicator of powder coat finishes by
PPG
, the leading
supplier of architectural metal finishes in the U.S. The
PPG
certification covers three different industry standards for
architectural metal finishes, AAMA 2603 - 10 year warranty,
AAMA 2604 - 15 Year Warranty and AAMA 2605
- 20 Year Warranty established by the American Architectural Manufacturers
Association (AAMA). Testing of Crystal's workmanship was coordinated
by
PPG
according to the AAMA specifications.
Approval by
PPG
represents the second major powder coat certification
achievement for Crystal Extrusion Systems. Previously this year, global
leader Akzo Nobel similarly certified the extruder to AAMA standards
for its
Interpon
powder coatings.
